CIA sponsorship supports 2019 Irrigation E3 program

The Irrigation Association selected 34 outstanding winners for the 2019 Irrigation E3 program. This year’s class, 32 students and two educators, received an education and travel award to attend the 2019 Irrigation Show and Education Week, Dec. 2-6 in Las Vegas. Included in these 34 winners were two students, Kellan Hamrick from Piedmont Technical College and William Porterfield from Alamance Community College, and one educator, Elizabeth Riley from Alamance Community College, representing the Carolinas. 

Founded in 2012, the E3 program provides students and educators with exposure, experience and education in the irrigation industry. Since the program’s inception, it has grown by over 300%. 

Over the course of the week, E3 winners had the opportunity to take education classes, network with industry professionals, learn about new irrigation technology on the show floor and discover all that the irrigation industry has to offer. 

When asked about her overall experience as an E3 winner, Elizabeth Riley from Alamance Community College said, “This was an amazing opportunity for me and I am so thankful I was selected to be a part of it. I met so many new people and learned so much that I am going to be able to teach my students to help them as they move into the industry.”
