Call for volunteers: NC High School Landscape Competition

The North Carolina High School Landscape Competition will be held on Feb. 27-29 with the main events being held at the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, North Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 29. Both students at the high school and collegiate levels are able to participate.

The event will test students’ skills through hands-on, competitive events designed by industry professionals. This competition will broaden the high school education experience and introduce students to the variety of opportunities available within the green industry. Events will range from plant ID to equipment operation to irrigation.

Volunteers are needed to make this event a success! We are looking for volunteers for the following irrigation events:

  • Thursday, Feb. 27: Pre-assembly at Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply, Apex, NC (two to four volunteers needed)
  • Friday, Feb. 28: Field lab assembly on-site for irrigation and lighting (four to five volunteers needed)
  • Saturday, Feb. 29: Competition judges and disassemble breakdown (six to eight volunteers needed)

If you have any questions regarding the event or volunteering, please contact Patrick Freeman. If you are interested in volunteering, please email us at [email protected] with your availability.
