Join the Carolinas Irrigation Association for our Virtual Winter Water Summit event on December 2022 (exact date TBA). The virtual event will offer attendees North Carolina Irrigation and Landscape Contractor Licensing Board credits and will feature both business and technical courses. 

 

Please note that these are not online courses that you can do on your own time. You will sign in to a live Zoom broadcast with the instructors. Each course will require sign-in to confirm that you are present during the course to qualify for CEUs. Zoom access information will be shared with registrants by close of business date TBA.

This technical session will be of importance to practitioners of irrigation contracting as it will educate participants on the ins and outs of current and emerging Wi-Fi technologies utilized in the field. Participants will have opportunities to both reinforce and expand their utilization of Wi-Fi irrigation technologies and become knowledgeable smart controller providers for their customers.

Irrigation Maintenance vs. Irrigation Repairs

Participants will learn the distinction between maintenance versus repair and how they can ensure they are implementing long-term solutions that provide better outcomes and enhanced customer satisfaction. This session will also touch upon how long-term maintenance helps increase revenue and better budgeting.

This business session will be of importance to practitioners of irrigation contracting to help them better understand the Five P’s (product, price, place, promotion, people) of marketing. Participants will learn the definition of the Five P’s and how to structure marketing plans around them to attract and nurture customers. The session will cover small business strategies and tactics to help the irrigation contractor achieve greater business success.

Decoder System Diagnostics

This technical session will be of importance to practitioners of irrigation contracting as they learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation two-wire systems. Participants will methodically work through the inspection of wire paths, solenoids, decoders, surge protectors, and controllers to diagnose the issue. Participants will also learn tips and tricks for measuring flow, measuring current, finding wire breaks, and finding a short or ground fault.

This business session will be of importance to practitioners of irrigation contracting as they learn the science behind business and personal relationships. Participants will explore the reasons why they may absolutely “hit it off” with one client and almost get into a fistfight with the next one. Preferred communication styles and interpersonal dynamics will all be explored with the intent to help irrigation professionals close more sales and retain more customers.
